Drawing inspiration from his years of service, the company name reflects his role as a “Buffer”—a Chief Bosun Mate responsible for ensuring safety, precision, and excellence in major ship operations. From anchoring to refuelling, the Buffer is the go-to expert trusted to get the job done.

Max brought the same dedication and high standards to Buffers Cleaning, starting with a small, passionate team of three. Max Grosse Director and Founder of Buffers Cleaning started the cleaning business in 2018, as his retirement plan. He’s been proudly serving as a Buffer in the Royal Navy for many years. Where the Company name comes from. A Buffer is the nickname for a Chief Bosun Mate, who reports to the First Lieutenant and supervises Health and Safety and major Ship activities, such as; Berthing alongside, Anchoring, refuelling or stores transfers at sea, sea boat operations. Also, The Commanding Officer may occasionally call for advice. Max started the cleaning company with help from friends and a small team of three. Having tackled challenges such as covid and with the determination to succeed. The company has now grown into a successful company.

Avast ye! Our domestic cleaning currently sets sail in Plymouth, Portsmouth, Newcastle and her neighbouring waters. But mark my words, as we expand , we aim to chart a course across the entire UK.

As for our end of tenancy deep cleaning service, with the assistance of our trusty crew, it now spans the breadth of Great Britain, offering the highest caliber professional cleaning, armed with the finest equipment and the best products available
